As sit in my cousin's Miami office, my truck parked nearby...I am thinking about my next steps. Yes, I leased a truck coined "butterfly" and my first 3 days on the road with a team driver, we racked up 2561 miles earning a total revenue of $4100. Yes, I hit my number the first week out. Granted there are a few things I need to work out to maximize profitability yet the first step has been met.

I have thus created a spreadsheet for identifying a profitable load and the proper allocation of funds so that the dispatcher can make negotiate a profitable load and the bookkeeper can allocate the funds appropriately. All in all, a very good experience thus far. Choosing loads every day isn't profitable and wastes too much time. Have decided to find some broker partners to gain loads easier, less negotiation, and steadier more predictable income.

I have come to the conclusion that it is more beneficial for me to be behind the desk, so to speak, as long as the truck is moving. A couple of hundred dollars each day, of course is helpful specially at the present moment, yet I could open up new lines of business and form partnerships and direct the business more efficiently.

Will be venturing out shortly and establishing - 13 stones. Although I have been flirting with the idea of Fliepan and Javakitty Transportation, I found a stone last night that has set my course so to speak.

Tonight, off to the beach. It was nice to be able to deliver a load in Miami, park the truck and then go visit my cousin. My ideal getting paid in my travels is paying off. Now to increase profitability.
